As a parent what really struck me was her regular referral to her parents in the lighting of her fire. Her mother taught her a skill, her parents discussed environmental values and ethics with her...... she was absorbing and processing and developing her own way with vital parental contribution. I am sure we all strive for that kind of positive contribution to our children's becoming.
