Cosmic Education

These are the continents of the world...

Today we built on our Olympic country research in a collaborative geography lesson.
Working together to free hand draw our continent, cut it out and place it all back together to represent the continent map.  The children brought with them their existing knowledge of "Gondwana" to share...

Some found cutting around the continent was tricky - so our problem solving skills were challenged to find a solution...

Recreating our world map honed our observation and collaboration skills, with students exclaiming " We made the world all by ourselves...".

Next we had to classify which continents our country research sheets belonged to...

And a chance to practice our smallest handwriting...

Some have already been inspired with independent follow up work...

Bringing in our reading to create our continent title pages, discovering images that represent the continent...

We look to sharing our book with you at PPP's and with the Tuakana for our next inquiry topic.... "Changing the world for good".
